Google Ads has now released ad credits to eligible Google Ads customers in many countries including the UK, in a bid to offer some relief during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Google had previously announced that they would be doing this, alongside their announcement of offering
free Google Shopping listings to businesses, but there have now been emails sent to many eligible businesses notifying them of their credit and the amount.
How much ad credit will businesses receive?
The ad credit received is different for different categories of ad spend and so some businesses will receive more than others. The credit will be automatically applied to your promotions tab in your Google Ad account and is valid until December 31, 2020. Whilst this is still being rolled out, it is worth checking to see if it has arrived yet and to begin thinking about how you might use this credit most efficiently.
We have already had emails coming through for accounts that we manage, notifying us of credit being added, so the chances are yours might have been added too!
Google has said: "We want to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) stay in touch with their customers during this challenging time. That’s why we’re giving our SMB customers worldwide $340 million in ad credits, which can be used towards future ad spend, until the end of 2020 across our Google Ads platforms. This is part of a larger commitment from Google to support SMEs, health organisations and governments and health workers on the frontline of this global pandemic".
Google have a support page for this which will be updated periodically for customers and will provide support on eligibility. However, if you need more assistance with your Google Ads, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our team on 01225 618030.
